General Rules

  1. When a referee is present, they are the final authority in the game. Parents and coaches should not speak to officials during play. Questions and concerns may be discussed at halftime or after the game. This message serves as a warning—if a referee is harassed or spoken to rudely during play, they have the right to eject the person immediately without further warning.

  2. Every player must play at least half of every game. If a player refuses to go in, address the issue with their parents between quarters or at halftime. DO NOT simply bench the child. Additionally, every player must sit out for at least one quarter. A common parent complaint is that coaches play the best player or their own child for the entire game—this is not allowed.

  3. Players must wear shin guards and proper cleats. Toe cleats are not allowed.

  4. Jewelry may not be worn during games.

  5. Regular season games may end in a tie.

When the goal keeper has the ball in hand.  They may not punt the ball.  They may throw it, or drop it to the ground and kick it.  Opposing teams players should retreat to midfield when the keeper has the ball in hand.  It would be great to teach keepers to roll the ball out to a teammate and play from there.  Once the ball is in the keepers hands the other team must retreat to the other side of the field.
